NE1 convert a Milwaukee?

I have a single-speed Milwaukee sander to which I’d like to add a variable speed unit, preferably the Milwaukee item. The parts list and exploded view at the Milwaukee site makes it look like a simple matter, but has anyone done this?

It’s a great tool, a real beast, though a heavy mutha for shure. Also, I need to replace the angle gear drive grease, any suggestions? The default is just some EP moly wheel bearing grease up there.

You could just get the varible speed reo-stat form Harbor Freight or Rockler Wood Working and clip it onto your pants? Costs about 20$, works great and a lot less work then tearing the sander apart?

Nah, list price on the ‘real thing’ from Milwaukee is only five bucks. Who’d need another in-line gizmo? I’m going down to Slim’s Power Tools, try my luck.

Thanks though
