nectar retro fish

vintage nectar retro fish, star system boxes with no fins.  whats it worth?  good shape probaly a 8 to 8.5 condition.  clear. probaly built around mid 70’s

Photos would help.  Who shaped the board? An old retro fish from Nectar would havea limited value as a collectable board an early Nectar thruster in good condition would be a much better board to have.

just curious how a fish from mid 70s could be a retro fish?

Star system finboxes? That’s late 70’s , early 80’s … It’s not exactly a collectible …

Had a couple McNabb (nectar) twin fins with nice glass ons  from that era that were collectible… Never should have sold them

I was Airbrushing for Nectar around that time.  Marty Ratcliff was the manager (RIP) Warren Brown was sanding and doing fins.

Oh The stories I could tell. It was an insane place to work.  But They did make great boards  McNabb has earned his place in surfboard design history.

He shaped me an early thruster egg.  maybe the first thruster egg ever shaped.  The low rocker and fin set up made that board fly. It held high in the pocket.  Sadly the sun set cliffs eat that board broken leash and High Tide waves slammed that board into the rocks. By The time I got to it it was pretty chewed up.
