So I have followed all the directions and videos from Greenlight. When it came to paint the pinlines, it said to use resin to prevent the paint from runing. Well I did not ad any hardner and ended up with a gooey mess and tried to sand and paint over it and it turned out horrible. Because this is my first board and a “practice” board, Im tempted to just hotcoat it, glass it and put some fins in it and be done with it. Any help would be appricaited.
Make sure you do this.; also it doesn’t matter how it looks, what matters is that you made it, you will surf it, and you will be stoked on it. simple as that
noones first board comes out right, but it still surfs. and you will never forget the experience, your next one will be better, and the one after that even better, take your time to do things right and you will reap the reward in the end. it will ride… they all do. maybe i can find a pic of my first board, unintentional asym fish haha
Thats gourgous a2tall. My first one is bamboo cloth from Greenlight, Im not a fan, I orderd some fiberglass clotth from them for my second. We will see which one I like better. Im betting Ill like the fiberglass cloth better.
i can tell by looking at it that it is the bamboo cloth, i prefer fiberglass also;although i have never used the bamboo it i have played with it, the bamboo cloth is easy to use but can take some getting used to. they both work and are good products, good luck on your next board; also check out greenlights sale on the $169 surfboard kit; comes with resin blank cloth and glassons…pretty good deal
