Got a fin from way back found on the beach about 25 or so years and thrown in the found wax, leash, whatnot heap until I finally after all these years took a look at it. Long story short, my Pop said I remember those fins…
It has a chip on the bottom and little damage as shown. I cleaned it up with some toothpaste recently. I think it’s a Skip Frye e-free but cant be sure. Any help would be well appreciated. Thanks ahead of time!
Never seen one of those! freaked me out and though it’s a cut down stage 3, however that base is to narrow and can’t see mods.Super find! I can recall the the fin e free or "finger fin.
I appreciate the fast response and glad to see I wasnt totally off the mark! And I checked the Von Weirdos link so thanks for that - Yall have a good one and if anyone needs a WAVESET fin Skip Frye (how cool is that!?!) for resto/whatnot/wherewithall give me a heads up!Otherwise it will live a long happy life on my display/bookshelf in full glory! And thanks again!
The “finger” was even smaller. Frye was experimenting with how small he could actually go with a fin, and still have it work. I think the e free was best compromise he found.
As with all elements of a surfboard design, which is a system of compromises.
