Need specs for re-creation of Stolen board...

Here’s what I recall it looked like…it’s been over twenty years, and I could be off a little? Picture a Greenough clear red mid toned fin right under rear foot in stance…sorry for my rough sketch, but my board had a triple stringer!

1 more time! Ventura surf shop http://www.venturasurfshop.com/

Willam Dennis well of knowledge…

ty - for the link! I feel lucky I had that board for four to five months. Being a got that board -from a local Ventura regular I still wonder who owned it? I’ll ask the Gal I got it from if she could tell me about it. Fyi Folk’s, I was easily able to ride 10 foot faces, and the board felt stable but turned well…I pushed it to it’s limits, and it could probably hang on a ten foot wave! I’ll never know -since she’s gone now…

To me, this is the real beauty and essence of backyard boards - you can make any shape that floats through your imagination (or memory!), you are not confined to the limitations of the sale rack at the surf shop, or trying to explain to somebody else what you want.  You get the foam, and let your inner vision create the board through your hands.  Have fun with it!

By the by, William-Dennis Surfboards are a joint venture of Bill “Blinky” Hubina and Dennis Ryder. Both are still active shapers and you can find Blinky in VSS pretty regularly–might even try calling him or dropping by. Great guys and great shapers, they have been nothing but encouraging to me in my time in Ventura.

I might just do that! I feel lucky I had that board - bcuz it gave me a different feel -from an era I was born in…the way it rode still etched in my memory banks…whoever owned it before our friend - must have patched dings, and didn’t beat it up bad…although I sense -that board must have went through several hands, and was ridden on maybe hundreds of waves…I would have named it " The potato chip" to! That’s the name she said it was! And I ended up getting it until it got stolen… I’ll check out Ventura and surf my re-creation there wth!? Thanks!!
