Just wondering if anybody has owned a nev surfboard shaped in australia. I’m looking into buying one and wanted to know of the quality and durability of these boards overall. Also I live in NJ, does anyone know of some reputable shapers in this area that could shape me a basic 7’6"-8’0" hybrid or fun shape for under $400. Also interested in used boards. Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks in advance!!! I used to work for nev a few years back doing the repairs to new boards, Nev uses Silmar resin and 4oz glass. 2x4oz on the deck and 1x4oz on the bottom, most boards are a protec finish. All the blanks are painted white. His boards go good and will last if looked after Rabbit

SLP We painted the blanks white to stop them changing colour in the sun. Cost didn’t worry me because nev was paying for it.The white paint make new boards look better in the shops compared to one’s not painted Rabbit

Herb At the moment i am doing some testing on a uv product called Hi Tech, Its a white powder that in can put in the foam and the Resin i sell. The test is a foam block glassed with 2 layer of matting. Silmar with hi Tech one half and just Silmar the other side. Its been out in the sun for 6 weeks now and the Hi Tech side is a couple of shade whiter. Maybe you guys now of the product Rabbit.

Yea,it’s been aroud for awhile now,but it costs a bit.Herb. Herb my boss wants to know where to get it from and how much. Thanks rabbit
Herb my boss wants to know where to get it from and how much. Thanks > rabbit…I don’t know if my supplier carries it anymore ,but I will find out for you.If he doesn’t carry it anymore he’ll know who does(if it’s still around). The reason I stopped using it is for 2 main reasons, cost, and that Sylmar’s resin comes complete with U.V. inhibitors. At any rate mate, the U.V. inhibitors only last for a year or so then they eventually breakdown. By the way my Blue Queensland Heeler,“Shelby” says,"ARF"from one countrymen to another.Herb.
