"new and blue" RR epoxy

Just started glassing with the new UV stable RR epoxy.  I was startled to see how BLUE this stuff is.

based on just doing the futures finbox installs last night...the blue seems to cure clear

Anyone with longer term feedback on using this stuff?

replying to my own post...lame

glassed with it last night...seems to set up nice and clear.

Seriously...anybody used this stuff?  Resin Research Epoxy with the blue UV stabilizer?

I think pretty much everyone is on to that stuff now.

I never really had the yellowing issue with the non-CE stuff that I’ve had with other marine epoxies.

So the CE hasn’t meant any obvious benefits as of yet…but it’s good peace of mind.

I think the CE formulation is meant to prevent PU blanks from shrinking when glassed with epoxy. I've been using it on EPS with good results. Like afoaf, didn't really have any yellowing issues with the regular RR epoxies.

I think that I've glassed 30 boards with it.  I made the switch to the CE from the regular RR.  I use it for everything kids boards to SUPs, Pu, and eps.

What information are you looking for?

Just curious if the CE would set up as clear as the old RR.  Sounds like it does.

Looks like the regular RR to me when all is said and done.

Yes it sets up clear.  It does have a blue tint.  In full sun it looks brighter.  I think the CE is thinner, seems to laminate better.  I never tried it but another user said that if you use the regular RR and then do a fill coat or a seperate lamination with the CE it will look weird.  The thicker the laminate the bluer the effect.
