polypropoleen reacts different under vacum and requires a different epoxy for best results

for those of you that have worked with it and found the key good.    (  it is the 21st century?) keep your eye to the future

for those glass shops that still have there heads up there bum       the vacum is an essential in the modern arena.

cheep eggshell boards are made in asia

good high tech long lasting boards can be made by you swaylock guys without the need to be trapped by an overruled industry

     dont frget           wood is good

[/quote] hahaha! huie.........maybe wood is best !

What are you playin with there Dave?........looks like some flex !

I got Skinz from Graphite Master.  Graphite Master pretty much has everything you can think of, but you gotta call to find out.

Dave, I really like that curvey outline.  What are the two strips along the tail rails for?

Ben.

So what is skinz

It’s a nylon non-woven cloth.  It’s properties are very similar to epoxy, so it is basically a filler that lets you control resin absorption.  So you can evenly thicken the laminate, adding more buckling and impact resistance, while only adding an unnoticeable amount of stiffness to the board.  If you like stiff boards, don’t use this stuff, use s-glass.

Also, in my case I’m using it to keep the innegra from poking through the other layers.

They are Carbon patches, to stiffen the rail in the tail section.

just for you      colourup’’

normaly i am not this nice

    cheers huie

Thanks huie, can I specify a date and a location like 2moro, Byron? I Carnt complain about the flat spell too much, it's much easier to get stuff done now after the season we've just had.

Can somebody tell me what 2 oz Skinz is and if/where we can get it Down Under? Is it similar to what the guys at Inlayz are using?

Cheers-J

Hi all

This is a great thread. Read it all and just want to check for any thoughts on the following schedule.

I have a sheet of bamboo veneer to use and want a little less stiffness, so thought id just veneer the deck and  use innegra on the bottom.

How does this sound (deck to bottom)?

4oz , boo, 2 oz, 1.5# eps, 2oz, 2oz innegra, 4 oz.

I was thinking of hand lam rather than vac the innegra to get the durability benefit of not comppressing the innegra. Am i right in thinking that with 2oz innegra the weight of the 4oz glass will help it lay down on the bottom concaves? What about wrapping the rails?

And wouldmit wrap around the tail edge well too?

cant delete the bits below??.that.

I am thinking ill hand lay the innegra to get the durability of the

Too hard, needs to be bagged, will be rich with resin, schedule seems good

I would not try to lap the innegra.

The 2.2 oz innegra I used has a weave about as big as 6oz fiberglass but looser. I bagged it, but I am wondering if you could hand lam it really dry and then seal it with a cabosil mix (as you would eps foam) before hand lamming another layer of 4 oz?

On the other hand  the board I just made with .7oz skinz, 2.2 innegra, 4 oz s glass, is showing some slight denting after 2 surfs.  It’s a alternative, but not a magic bullet.
