hey bandito thanks for posting that link . hows the board ride?
I’m pumped to see this board coming along! Nice to see it all glassed and looking solid. For a second there I thought you’d laminated some leaf into the board, lol! …A righteous surf tribute to Bob indeed. I am looking forward to hearing how it goes in the water!
Oh yeah Sonny I was also stoked to see the vancouver island poster on the wall behind your board. I’m living in Victoria right now finishing up my life’s official schooling… Where are you at on the island? …if you surf south island I’ll be watching for that board in the lineup!
the mike doyle board i have is a 6’2" diamond tail fish with his RPQ set up and i really like it. if’s super fast and skatey and seems to work well for our mushy waves here in the gulf. a number of the good local guys are ripping on these board so it must be more than just the placebo effect.

hey kyle . iam in burnaby right know but moving back to the island may 1st. south island for sure proly sooke. and the ganja leaves are real (this is b.c.after all)and glassed under a layer of 3 0z. glass. was an afterthought experement. the board will be ridden on the south island very soon. cant wait
Ha Haaa…! nice, that’s dope (literally) that they actually are glassed in there… I thought you just stuck 'em in the photo to be with Bob. Classic. I’ll be planting trees up north from mid april on til mid summer, but I’ll be keeping my eyes open for the ride report and if all goes well I’ll be watching for the board mid summer onwards. Planning on shaping a big old 100% noserider, maybe 9’6", for the summer soon after getting back from planting. A real wave pig, make the best of the small days.
keep the stoke!
Oh yeah, if you want a little burst of home surf nostalgia, my pic is a small day at Waterfalls on my twinnie fish. Some bigger sets rolling through but consistent small to mid ones. I wasn’t patient enough to wait for the big ones that day. Hoping for some low tides and good swells for zins now that my shortie is fixed!
cool man! i miss waterfalls. iam a goofy footer but that right is killer. ive been surfing mainland wind chop haha!( witch actually is better than i thought ) island life is calling
yeah man waterfalls is the goods! I’m goofy too, coming here has made me really have to try to sort out my backhand surfing. Land O’ Rights, lol. Especially took some time on the twin fish.
I’m stoked for you to get back to the roots, especially with some new boards to play with!
well the fish is preaty much done . just needs a leash cup.[img_assist|nid=1041023|title=quad fish|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=480|height=640][img_assist|nid=1041024|title=thick|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=640|height=480]
SonnyCheebs, that’s looking sick. I’m stoked man it looks like it’s gonna be a fun west-coaster. Thick as Thick, eh?
…Got totally skunked on the dawn patrol today, swell was further south than we thought it’d be, NOTHING even squeaking into sombrio or JR, and a pounding wind way stronger than we expected. Went to renfrew on the off chance, it wasn’t windy and the swell was coming in, but the tide was too high. Ah well, home for a quick swaylock and a nap.
That board is making me pumped to make a fish this summer…
