Hi. I have an old board that I'd like to give a new look with some decals I've designed.
I've sanded the bottom and deck ready to paint and then apply the decals.
Is this the right way to go a bout it. :
1. Re paint the bottom and deck white with OIL BASE ?? acrylic paint.
2. A thin coat of Lam resin to place the decals. ( bottom first. )
3. Roll out 20z. cloth.
4. Squeeegee lam resin.
5. Filler coat and sand.
Why not just put the stickers on? If you want to cover it up with some paint, somewhere around here there are posts about painting. I would find that for the details, i believe it is just a water based acrylic spray like krylon h20. Just spray it with that then the clear sealer and slap those decals on. 20 oz cloth is seriously thick and would add a tremendous amount of weight to the board and be unslightly. Keep in mind the glassing is the hardest part of board building (IMO).
