New tail half made for 'pulled in fish' tail & 8' long board design!.

Folk’s -I was checking different Fish boards last week and I noticed some shapers pull the tail in some… This is nothing new, but I’ve unknowingly ordered a custom fish board yrs ago w 8’wide tail block…looking back, the board was able to actually pivot around on turns at about 180 degrees! Can you imagine dropping in zoom n full speed, cutting back when wave flattens out, and it just flings you right at the lip! My natural reaction was was to hit lip -which sent me again zooming down the line…it dawned on me I did my first figure 8 cut back! Anyway, I think the pulled in tail obviously was a good mistake! So hear I am 30 yrs l8tr making a template.

Here is dims: 21" wide 6’8" long 9 1/4" tip to tip at tail block!oh, and tail will be 15 7/8" wide, so minus half that width for templates width…I think is a bit wider, but is definitely pulled in. Look at the outline and let me know what you think. Fyi-im gonna use the front half of my jetfish design.

Folk’s - I purposely made my half template 4" longer -with my desired board length is 6’-6’1" or so…but wth I can make a 6’8" also! Also, I can do other designs with it - like squash tail, thumb tail, rounded diamond etc… all I’d have to do is draw it in, and forget the fish tail. Anyway, my board is no longer a true fish, but a hybrid offshoot swallow tail w hpsb in the mix… I dunno, I had wondered how my mistake yrs back was actually a breakthrough! Think about it, a normal fish generally is very fast, and does more of a slide turn, or a long drawn out cut back…my concept here I think should make it a looser alternative to a traditional fish. I’ll shape it in the next week I hope!?

Folk’s - I just traced a long board template i got from - John Mellor, and sorry my lighting is terrible… but I’ll update w better pics as I make my spin templates… well, my long board is 8’, but my plan is to move the template and draw
a connector template to make longer boards…if you have suggestions -let me know.

Folk’s - if you are building a fish, mod fish, alternative short board, or a stubby, sims cross etc., feel free to share your build here! Cheers!
