Hey I really like that plan shape!
ditto…great looking board! nice work! > Hey I really like that plan shape!
thanks guys I did get to ride it on two so-so waist high waves (which is pretty good around here most days) and it transitions very well and fast, flew past the sections when pumping on a steep wall. didn’t get a chance to try out the channels, but had two very good rides. ends up the guy stood up once, quickly, in about 2hrs, not quite truthful about his ability. I told him I’d build him something a little more forgiving (thicker/wider) but he still wanted it…oh well. I think the channels turned him on…I really hope he gets to use them.
JR, Very nice bro!!! Keep up the good work, heck I might order one from ya you keep that up! ed
I gotta agree, that’s a real nice outline…where’s the wide point. Looks like just behind center? Are those 4 narrow channels or two wide ones? Hard to tell in the photo.
1.5-2" behind center, I had to cut .5 off the tail cause it was too thin so that moved it all back, orignally 1.5". I know, my photo skills are pretty shocking. It 's four narrow channels. that was my first use of my new digital cam and there’s a reflection of the rafters in the gloss (YEAH!).
Dear JR I was reading your board synopsis and wondered whether after the opaque “tint” did you still use a cut lap or was this able to be done away with after the opaque resin layer? do you get my meaning? It is a bloody nice board, I gave my last away as well. It’s nice to at least have a wave or two! Holger
thanks I did a cut lap on the deck (bottom layer) but I suppose I really didn’t need to; free lapped the bottom (deck layers).
