Jim Phillips, by crikey you were right. I took your advice and hey presto, we have rails, and actually, they look alright. I think its just the unfamilar teritory, of looking at a board in its ‘in between’ stages, it just didn’t look right. But, once I began to work into the rail area, putting some radius onto the sharper edges, the board kinda of came to life - as if by magic. So, I’ve finished the shaping now, and I was going to put a coat of white Acrylic onto the board surface, with a couple of blue bands running along the side of the stringer(kind of like a coloured T band) I guess I keep the paint nice and light. Does the paint effect the foam at all, as in, its water based, so does it effect the foams surface?? Peaman x
good job! are you painting it all white? as that could affect the way the resin reacts with the foam! if you dont paint it all if you have access to a compresor make sure you give it a final sand and a good blow clean as that should get rid of those nice finger marks that will appesr as you glass it!! good luck! :O)
