No planer, alternatives?

Hi,

So, I took the advice of the discussion board and went to bunnings and got myself a planer. $50 with 3 year warranty. All I can say is thank god. I put it on a low cut to start off and slowly worked my way around the bottom of the board. So glad I did.

Now, I’m all done. Its a 7’6 mini mal.First Board

You should wear shoes when working with power equipment.

Good work, goes to show that you never know till you have a go!

Sure do… I lost half my little toe when I was fifteen… awesome advice.

I was sanding, planer was put away.

Now we need a thread on what are the best shoes for shaping a Board.

Island Pro slippahs are clearly the best footwear for shaping. Made in Hawaii since 1946.

Slippers might be good for short boards but what about longboards?

It’s hard to get foam dust out of the furry lining of my bedroom slippers.
