North Shore Shaper Sues Magazine???

When I was delivering a boat through the Bahamas, every thing was “jus’ a minute”… which always worked out to be same time tomorrow.

Im with the jewish law student (cut your hair Brandon, itll trim the run ins with the law), when in the islands, you gotta slow to ISLAND time…

I read the article and it reminded me of some of my own stories about getting board built around here… just shake your head and love it when its done… thats all you can do.

most likely true…but isn’t the point that i shouldn’t have to? shouldn’t crazy-haired beach bums be afforded the same constitutional protections and other rights and privileges as the downtown yuppies? do i not have the right to not be bullied by cops who simply have nothing better to do with their time (well, that’s not really accurate…they surely have better things to do…like prevent and investigate crime…they simply choose not to). do i not have the right to speak out against the cops who sit at the end of my street writing speeding tickets all day, while just down the block someone is smashing out all the windows on my car just for shits and giggles? should i not expect our “law enforcement officers” ( ← notice the quotes…that means i’m writing it with a very sarcastic tone ) to follow up when my handicapped little brother is violently attacked and robbed, and information that can positively identify and locate the perpetrators is readily available to them? should i not be appalled when those same officers, after threatening me with a tazer for expecting them to take our statements and file a police report, then tell me that they aren’t going to follow up because “unless someone gets killed…or maybe raped…we just don’t give a shit”. ( ← those are not sarcastic quotes…those are quotes to indicate that that’s what the cops ACTUALLY said to me ). …G-D BLESS AMERICA

Someone has to stand up to the fascist pigs, sounds like you are doing a good job Brandon

i hate em to

always after the easy bust

they just tax collectors with weapons

Roy:

thank you. that means a lot coming from someone as non-conformist / anti-establishment as you! fight the power!!! (nonviolently, of course).

Silly:

i couldn’t agree more… for quite some time now, i’ve felt that cops were great when you needed a parking citation or speeding ticket, and that we arm them with weapons for the sole purpose of harassing law-abiding citizens. i wish i could just buy myself a nice uninhabited tropical island (with a few good surf breaks to suit my many moods) so i could live free. mmmmmmmm… (that sounds delicious).

im sure there are good ones

but we dont have to deal with the good ones cuz there to busy catching criminals

we have to deal with the lazy ones

Ah yes Solstice my man, but you live in Boca Raton, and believe me it’s not the cops to blame, it the crooks running your town. There is some good analogies of Boca in the book “Marley and Me” by John Grogan… Boca’s a long way from New Zealand.

Now back on topic, as if Owl wants more.

sure, there are plenty of good ones (some of which i can even call friends)…but it only takes a few bad grapes to ruin a whole barrel of vino.

hmmm…it would be so cool to have diplomatic immunity. that way, i could just ignore cops and their ridiculousness. i sure hope one of my friends becomes President some day.

i wonder how theyd deal with the bra boys in your town soulstice?

A New Zealand police officer cannot be good by definition !

It’s like this: when joining the police one is asked what one would do in a case where one had to enforce a law which is unjust. . . … if you answer that you would enforce the law you pass the test. . . if you say that you wouldn’t enforce that law then you cannot join the force.

I know that this is true because I applied to join the police force in in 1991, and I passed the test by telling them what they wanted to hear. . . then bailed because there’s no way that I would ever enforce an unjust law.

My point is that all police officers are drilled in this belief system. . . that they have to enforce the law even if it is unjust. . . this underpins their entire existence once they have joined.

Police officers are amoral. . . not necessarily immoral, but amoral for sure, because they follow rules rather than morals

Even though the rules often mimic morality, it makes no difference to the cop, because they will enforce ANYTHING. . . no matter how immoral. . . it’s part of their training.

That’s why I detest them, because they are men who have tried to turn themselves into machines

. . . and then there are the BAD ones. . .

:frowning:

So sad when a thread goes off topic…

Yep…
