I’m planning on attempting to replicate a 60’s Nuuhiwa Noserider, as well as making the fin for it. The fin on the originals is a bit crude and has minimal foiling. For my new board should I foil the fin to modern longboard standards or try to match the original? Would the lift of a highly or moderately foiled fin negatively or positively effect the riding characteristics? Thanks, Graham
I’d go with the old foil. Those foils weren’t ideal on paper, but they were a part of a whole design package that added up to that board riding the way it did.
-------------------All of that flat area in the original fin provided lots of hold.---------------- ----------- -----------the fins foil (or lack there of) is maxed out. >>>>> lateral pressure,-------------------------- ---------------------think flat surface-------think curved surface ----------------- --------------------------------- --------------------Im sure you would enjoy fine tuning your fin.------------------------------------------------- ------------------- Nuuhiwa’s are dogs, you really need to adjust your mind set to a diffrent channel.--------- -------------------------I have a nice old (rider)10’1" ------------------ ----------------------------------------- -----------------------------------does anyone want to buy it?------------------ ---------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------please contact for details------------------------------------------------
