I’m gonna go down to Nexpa in a few weeks, and then make my way up to Pasqualies by bus.
I’ve heard there is a place w/decent rights called something like Tecla. I’m a regular footer, so I’m hoping to happen upon some rights in between.
Not looking for “secrets” or anything, but maybe decent cheap places to stay/camp/avoid, etc.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
i would not go there - the waves are no good and its over-run with banditos...... ;)
Tixla is a good spot. Kinda like trestles form what I’ve heard. Lefts and rights … river mouth. Pasquales is Pipeline … been there three times. Excellent, Gnarly, Gnarly spot. Beach break with nice inside out hollow A frames. Lefts and rights. River mouth. Tixla had a campground … don’t know the latest but would guess it’s still there. Pasquales might be alright to camp on the beach or you can stay at a hotel in Tecoman. Boca De Apiza also has some waves too. Not many spots in this part of Mex … lots of close out beachies. These spots though are world class … swell never stops at Pasquales … overhead every day or better. Very consistent at Tixla too. Bring a big wave board
25 years ago a buddy and I spent over a month on a driving trip from San Clemente CA down to Playa Azul which is just south of Rio Nexpa.
I have not been down in that area for ages, but La Ticla is a Rivermouth set up, similar to Nexpa but on a smaller scale.

La Ticla has excellent surf but was by far the nastiest place I've ever stayed in Mexico. Pigs would follow you when you went to take a dump and then they'd dig it up and eat it. No puerco gracias. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. But like I said that was many years ago....
Don't be surprised if you run into overbearing, obnoxious Texans who treat the locals horribly and act like they own the place.
There's plenty of waves down that way. You'll have a great time.
