I’ve got an 8’0 EPS longboard with a tail that was smashed along with stringer up to about an inch from the center fin box. I’m not sure I need to replace the stringer in some fashion as no body weight is placed this far back (at least on purpose). Any suggestions appreciated. To answer the obvious question, the board was lost off the top of a car on a bridge. Significant damage in other areas also but I’m going after the harder one first.
Thanks
Charlie
Get some decent EPS foam and cut a slight vee wedge (angled cut) toward the nose… so the peak of the wedge is past where the leash cup was. Glue the EPS block in with one of the good adhesives. 3M for strong bonds incl. EPS or use 5 minutes epoxy, or white or wood glue if that’s what you have handy.
Then reshape and glass it. Put the new leashcup in once the repair is glassed and hotcoated. Sand out to finish. Re-pinline with black acrylic or go cheap with a Sharpie.
HAVE FUN.
