A couple of things:
1- Any ESP/epoxy shapers out North Shore or Kona way? I’m heading to both spots in early March and wouldn’t mind checking out others who do the custom epoxy thing. I’m in Portland, Oregon and only have one other around here who does epoxy.
2- My wife has never surfed but wants to take a lesson while in Hawaii. Any recommendations?

Hey Gary - I recommend taking your wife to Waikiki, and renting a tandem board right there on the beach. Get the biggest one you can find, and go out with her for an hour or two. The surf there is perfect for beginners. My wife and I did that and loved it so much that I ended up building a tandem board when we got home.
Surf lessons are fine & dandy too, but there’s a lot to be said for doing it together. If you were going to Kauai I’d say find Ambrose for a lesson, but I don’t know anyone to recommend on the big island…
