Wasn’t Peggy one of the original Dog Town Z skaters? The only Z-girl in fact?

Here’s a couple links to Oki info from EasternPacific. I don’t know how to post the pic he sent me but therre is a lot here if interested. I used to see her at Rincon a lot on weekdays. Always a pleasure in the water. Excellent water skills and friendly and good humored. I remembered that when I saw the Dog Town movie back when it came out.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with Peggy and I will wholeheartedly agree that’s she’s awesome. Truly gracious, nice and genuine about what she’s doing. Great painter too.

Maybe more off topic…

How the hell do you fold a whale?

And what would you fold it into, a Fat Penguin??

Sorry for the distraction Epac, I had a vision of a humpback being folded in half…

Fantastic effort, big ups for Peggy…

Cool Hicks, kudos for the awareness prop back to the top of the list.

She’s really interested in the picture petition at the moment which everyone can help with.

Check it out! Thanks…

Because it is a bit more effort than typing in an e-mail address, rather than a list of names a more powerful statement will be made when these visual petitions are presented to the delegates at the IWC meetings.

In order for me to receive the points in the contest, these instructions must be followed closely:

1) Go to: http://www.visualpetition.com/slippages/p1download.php

for instructions from where you may [=1]DOWNLOAD one of the IMAGES that they offer of a painting or photo of dolphins or whales to use. OR you can click here to download my painting [ 2]“Dive at Dawn”[/] shown here (in the righthand column).

2) Have a PHOTO taken of you holding the IMAGE.

Then return to the “join petition now” page

[/]http://www.visualpetition.com/slippages/p2upload.php and scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Step 2. Uploadto upload your PHOTO.

3) When entering the information, there will be a place for a USERNAME.

In that place, please enter mine, which is PeggyO[=1]

The final date to submit visual petitions is the 31st of May 2008.

[ 2]Please share this link with your friends & family[/][=1][ 5]*[/][/]to participate & submit my username, and I’ll receive points for every submittal.

[=1][ 5]*[/][/]After telling my friend at a party about the campaign he strongly urged that I bring my camera & petition along with one of my own dolphin prints (any cetacean photo or print will work for the visual petition) into the party. I was pleasantly surprised with how many people at the party enthusiastically supported this effort. It was really fun for all, and I collected over 20 visual petitions, and 2 parties plus 2 events later, I’ve collected over 70 VPs! If you feel it appropriate, please try this at some of your holiday parties and visits with friends and family. People are enjoying it! If you would like to take other people’s petition photos, please go to this link below, and scroll down towards the bottom to download the Visual Petition Information sheet and Visual Petition Statement and Conditions: [/]http://www.visualpetition.com/slippages/competition.php

It may seem like quite a challenge to win, but as another friend told me: “If you can make a “Curtain of 30,000 Origami Whales”, you can win this contest.” So on his urging, I’m asking for your help. Whether I win the sponsorship or not, your voice to protect Cetaceans is needed, and I am glad to contribute to this effort and am grateful to you for your considerations.

For the Dolphins & Whales,

Peggy Oki
