Is anyone interested in trying any of the various fin templates I have posted on the ‘fin options’ and ‘my fish …some of the fin setups’ , as well as the ‘single fin templates’ and ‘twin fin templates’ threads ?
[you see , there WAS method to my madness , after all , in posting “SO MANY” photos of fins during the last year or so …]
…cheers for any recommendations / suggestions / favoured setup ideas, guys !
When I looked at that board I thought it would go well as a single. At least that’s what I’d like to try it as. The fin options will make the holders hold on to it a bit longer. It would add to the fun though. I hope someone gets some pictures of video of it in action and if it ever comes to Hawaii, let me know.
thanks Ben , that’s possibly a good point about the holders …wonder whatever happened to the Ambrose board in cali !!!
Well, I certainly want to take some photos of the christening / launching of the board HERE…
I think as long as Lavz and I can brave being seen in hicksy’s fairy kombi ,we may need to drive north of here to try to get some rideable waves for it .
I plan to have a water camera or two on hand for the day …and hopefully Grant or Anthony [or both !!] may have access to a video camera , too ?
at least with three of us , you’ll get some different styles and footage …
all we need … WAVES …
stay tuned …
ben
I’m thinking , for starters , of making some back fins to match some of my existing side fins . (Bigger than the sides , but same shape , roughly …)
I relly like the idea of a widowmaker set up. Say, 7 1/2" single with 3’’ sides set with the trailing ends of the sildes about level with the front of the back fin. Whatdoyareckon??
Since the finbox ends 7" up from the tail with some 10" of movement fore and aft, how far up do I put the trailing FCS plugs in from the tail and in from the rails…
I’m waiting with a hole saw in my hand…revving it slowly…
Wednesday [tomorrow here in wozzieland] , I will be going to Hicksy’s with cloth and lam resin…fin making day has arrived !
…also , four fcs plugs …
red or blue or "smokey " coloured ?
…any suggestions ?
I will take out some of my many cardboard templates , and put them one by one in the finbox .
And for starters , go with whichever Hicksy and I think looks good / “right” for the board.
The first fin I make [the single fin] may be a clear one , a yellow and green pigment one , a blue tinted one , or a carbon fibre inlay one … I haven’t decided yet …
I think “Lavz” may be busy [he’s working on a “project” currently , but I’ll leave that to him if he wants to share it here]…so , “maybe” hicksy or I “might” be able to get a coupla fin layup shots [?video?] , if anyone would be interested in seeing that ?
