Old Challenger Eastern ID help?

I just bought an 60’s 8’ Challenger Eastern single fin here in NJ. Wide board, rounded nose, pin tail - plus it’s thicker at the tail (tail block is green and black). Due to some water damage, can’t read the shaper carved in the balsa. I think it says ‘No 35’ and something like 'JIMIBOY" - any thoughts?

That may be one of Jim Phillips old shapes. He used to shape for Challenger back then.I dunno…Jim where are you ???

Not one of mine, the last boards I shaped at Challenger Eastern were all BIG BOARDS and I DIDN’T get to sign them, yet.

Hey JKP were they bumpy??LOL Brookah

No bumps, Tinker inspected EVERY shape BEFORE it got to the laminator, if he saw something he didn’t like, back to the racks until it was PERFECT in his eyes. Why do you think I still take the time to do it right, Tinker might be watching

Hey, i was hoping someone could help me id this board , i also posted on the eastern challenger info post,..its yellow tinted with trip hardwood stringers heavy heavy glass job, pulled in nose, squaretail with black block, eastern challenger logo in the shape of a star, no serial #..i checked all over..thx in advance for any info on it !  Glenn.

That big-assed fin would indicate it’s an early one. Those fins were pretty rare by 1966.

So, what you have there is a mid 60s Challenger Eastern surfboard in surprisingly good condition. If you read the other thread that you posted to you’ll get a whole lot of history and background on that outfit. What else do you need to know?

thx for the response, yah i read the thread, cool stuff..more than i ever knew. i was just hoping that someone would recognize it as their handiwork, and i could id the shaper . hopefully someone remembers the design? thx man.
