I am looking for parts for an old Montgomery Wards planer (Power Kraft)? DO you know if I can still find parts for them?
land fill look carefully
http://www.toolkraft.com/ Also, lots of things like brushes, etc, can be had through someplace that either fixes power tools or rebuilds things like starters, etc. You also sometimes see 'em on eBay. Though I should note that it wasn’t much of a tool to begin with and you might be best off putting it on the shelf and springing for a newer planer. hope that’s of use doc…
I hear the Power Kraft is like the old Ryobi that is pictured on the Shapers Australia site next to the Skil, where the barrels are advertised. I am surprised to hear it wasn’t a good planer???
More along the lines of http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2365841658&category=42285 , if I recall right - Mostly plastic, not exactly top of the line pro-tool-grade. Not that great a piece of equipment compared to a Rockwell or something like that. More like the plastic Harbor Freight and the equivalents you can pick up for less than fifty bucks.
Listen to Doc, the Power Kraft line was all crap tools, not worth the energy to try and fix
