Vaclav Stejskal - owner of One Ocean Kayaks has put together a great site on, you guessed it… hand built wooden kayaks. He offers plans and kits for various kayaks and related equipment.
Of interest to surfboard builders is his research on resins, cloth and composites. He has done some practical comparitive studies with photos (are you listening Chipfish?) that might add to epoxy composite/hollow wooden stuff that has been discussed recently.
Unfortunately his current test results do not include Resin Research although he tells me he has some samples.
Check it out!

While the epoxy comparisons may be the most interesting feature of the site to surfers, I would like to encourage folks to look at the building methods. Strip building removes the need for foam cores and can result in a completely hollow board. While not entirely free of structure like a mat, they ride like they wish they were mats.
In any case, as a woodbutcher, I greatly enjoyed viewing the links - especially the work by the fellow from “Toquenatch Creek”. He does some amazing work.
