Greg also posted once that a flashlight under the board can help you see the tapeline.

I use the ‘upper-and-lower tape line’ trick for black cutlaps.

It works.

See it here:

The trick is no make a rough cut of the black lap, just to make visible the inner edge of the tape line.

The lay another layer of the SAME tape above the black lap, following the path of the lower tape.

Finally, cut black lap following the outer edge of the upper tape and it’s done.

2 Layers of tape like Herb Said works good. You can see the “bump” and follow that line with your razor blade. The flashlight trick was posted by Tom Stern a few years ago and I hear it works good.Either way you are probably going to have to add a pinline. R Brucker

Roger,

How’s it been ? Good to see that you’re still vertical.

I think about the old times alot(lol) and you come up regularly in my mine.

Hope all is good and many blessings ,my Man ! Herb

the double up on the tape seems pretty easy ill go that route…for a while I was using a white colored pencil and a rail marker for marking fresh laps before cutting it works good but seemed to always leave a little to much tape behine…For any one who is interested I also use different colored pencils for diferent color lams…for clear volan a white pencil you can see on the foam bot not after its glassed godd for when im not planning pins and im not a good free hander at all…thanks to all for the tape tips

From all of us,

You’re Welcome !
