ORANGE FORMULA US BLANKS - TRIALS

RECEIVED A ORANGE US BLANK THIS WEEK.

WILL MAKE A RED AND A ORANGE SAME SHAPE.

THE ORANGE IS SUPER LIGHT HOWEVER REALLY HARD:

.

AN GIGGLE!

Hey Midget, can I comment and just say yes or no, fairs fair, H.

Harris: I’m not trying to make a commercial competition out of this. Simple Red Formula verses the Orange Formula. If people want to turn it in to a train wreck that’s too bad. This is unbiased. Just two builds same shape both PU with different densities. Same glassing schedule. Weight comparison and performance are the main focus.

Kind regards.

Hi guys,

We just got some sample Orange foam too and are testing those blanks.  We’ll report back as the blanks get shaped then glassed.  Like SurfDing said they are very light and hard.

Keep ya posted.

Brad

Handshape one too! Tell us how it goes!

So what was the sales pitch from US Blanks when they gave you the sample?  Lighter weight and less denting?  Just curious.

The rules of Swaylock’s Surfboard Design Forum are pretty simple.

The rules are:

  1. No personal attacks.

  2. Stick to the topics of the various forums.

  3. Please NO advertising in The General Discussion.

  4. Please keep things you want to sell, promote, advertise etc, in the classifieds or the Marketplace Forum.

Those are all the rules. Posts that violate any of the above may be
locked and/or deleted by either myself or one of the moderators at any
time. If you feel that you are the victim of a personal attack, please
PM me or one of the moderators and we will deal with it.

It's not clear who the above was directed at, but the original intent of the thread is a worthy one for this forum.

Rottnest - since you asked where I am, I’ll chime in…

If Surfding sold these blanks, I might be inclined to agree with you, but in this case I don’t.

I agree with Surfthis, it seems like a reasonable topic for a thread, comparing an existing foam with a new one.  I imagine many Swaylockers would be curious as to his conclusions.

OK?  If not, PM Mike Paler, please, and he can decide differently if he wishes…

so you set new boundries then can you please bring the coil thread back

Surfding is neither selling or promoting anything, he's doing a comparison of two blanks made by the same company, he states his intents in his response to Harris. Seems to be in keeping with a surfboard design forum.

was not talking to you    will rattle the can when i need you

No need to be rude, and in response to your question, no.

I for one really appreciate these Comparisons, not sales pitches. The information gained albeit vicariously is very helpful to those of us that don’t have a lot of resources for R&D. Take the tip and run with it.

Thanks Heaps, AGAIN S’Ding.

The "rules" are discrinatory in that they are applied to some folks but not others.  For instance:  I could go over  to Industry Talk and start a "Build " thread and somone would post up and complain about it, telling me to move it over to "General Discussion" .  Provided I wasn't from "Down Under".  In that case certain pre-designated contributors would chime in happily supporting such a thread.  Capiche?

PS-----I think this thread has started out by surfding as a legimate comparison between two foams made by the same company.  Kind of a "consumer reports" thread.  Don't sweat it though it's already started down the wrong road as the Surfblanks Yellow comparison did.  Now if the OZZies would just jump in here and take a dump, We'd be on our way.  Also I didn't even notice the Coil Ride add/commercial was gone.  'Bout time.

Keith seriously I shaped two boards a yellow and a red for comparsion to see if there is an advandage or not.

I can care less what blank company made them. I don't sell blanks and theres no money in building surfboards.

I truely thought it would be fun for all of us to study a build. So much crap lately here on swaylocks I thought it was time for a build comparision.

However this new moderator has already train wrecked this project. Maybe we need a new web site for building surfboards?

Already started the build. So I guess I will just take photos and document the build and save it for YouTube. We will surf these boards in Tahiti after Christmas.

I will sent the link sometime in February if anyone wants to see it on YOUTUBE.

Since Rottnet is the board building Guru of SWAYLOCKS maybe he can offer to provide the time and resourses for a build.

Take care and have a nice holiday!

Kind regards,

Surfding
