Ordered my first custom 6'10'' egg

Hey guys, i have ordered my first custom, a 6’10’’ MORE surfboards 2+1 egg. They are based in Yamba, northern NSW. Moresurfboards.com.au ( no affiliation here guys )

Dims are

15 3/4 Nose

21.5 wide, up 1 3/4’’

15 1/4 Tail

2 3/4 thick

It’s an all round fun machine for knee to a bit overhead.

I’ve also gone with a red tint and a polished finish. Can’t wait.

And yes chip, i will add photo’s when i get it/ Play around with fins/Give a ride report.

I got myself a set of fcs PC-7 fins for a disc im shaping, but i’ll try the rear fins in the egg for sure

Hey BF,

I currently have his Aqua Bat that is being passed around. You should definately get a hold of it if you can.

I am really impressed with the the finish on the board. He is doing some good work, you will be stoked i’m sure.

Im keen to try it when it gets down around this way for sure, sounds like a great board.

Ben, the board in the pic is the egg. The disc is in my shed, awaiting rail shaping on one more side!.

And that’s the shaper in the pic, his name is mark also, and he’s a goofy as well.

Well it’s here!!!. Here’s pics guys, will let you know when i surf it. Im goin tomorrow, though this week looks shit in general.

Rode it today in some chest highish semi hollow waves. Managed a nice backhand floater and almost a cheater 5 ( backhand ) so im very happy with it. I need to get a better centre fin, this one is a bit dull. Very happy customer!!

nice looking board! I love my 2+1, has the hookup off the bottom and top like a thruster, and drives in the pocket like a single.

I went thru several fin combos on my 2+1 until I hit the sweet spot, ended up with 4"x 4" fronts, and a 4.5w x 6’H rear fin that started out at 5 x 6.5 that I kept sanding and moving until it felt just right.

funnest board I’ve surfed in many years, hope your is all that as well!!

Beautiful board Beerfan.

I just started building my first board, which will be a 6’6" egg.

What bottom contours have been used on your board?

Could you make some more detailed pictures of the bottom tail area?

Hey there Glider, I actually shaped Beerfans egg and would gladly discuss anything to do the board or your shaping queries if you want ??? Im in the process of shaping my girlfriend a board with very similar dimensions, although a little smaller cause she’s paper thin. What tail and nose rocker do you use for these? It looks like there is very little in the pictures.

I cut down a good 1/2’’ off the base/outline of my longboard fin, and tried it on fat waves this morning. Felt much more responsive, less effort to start the board turning. Really liking this setup on it, it will stay for a while. I think the reduced tip area gives a very nice feel to the turns as well. The fin still has 5 1/2’’ of base too!!
