OT: OUCH!!!

owwwww. i just cut my forefinger open with my planer. prettyy stupid of me. thankfully its not that bad - not really deep.

soooo…don’t EVER put your fingers near that blade when the thing’s plugged in. i know my fingers are staying away from now on!

…owww

ps. should i keep my finger above my heart area to somewhat lessen the amount of blood?? its all bandaged up right now but its really throbbing.

Sounds sore.

Elevating the cut should reduce the pressure of the blood in that area, yea. I’m not sure it’ll stop the throbbing - but it may well give it a chance to clot up a bit quicker.

As tempting as it may be to get a few beers inside you to take the edge off it, it may not be the best idea - alcohol thins the blood and can reduce / slow down clotting.

I am pretty sure I never went to medical school though - so take this post accordingly

Really though - elevate it and it’ll stem the flow of blood a little. Whenever I’ve had a bad cut I just keep a pad of some sort on it to stop it bleeding out as much as I can, elevate it, and try to let it seal up and heal in the open air. I’ve always been under the impression that things heal better if the air can get to them.

If taking the bandage off soon keep something to mop up blood close by as sometimes that can pull the wound open again.

Glad you still have your fingers in the right place. Make much of a mess of the blank?
