Two guys in the lot talking. One guy has a buffed out Tyler Squaretail with a glassed on blade and deep red tint lamination on both sides. The other guy had a new 11" Donald Takayama ‘Duke Kuhio’ Surftech Model with the painted Tuf-Lite finish.
The Surftech guy says, “Yeah, I just got this. It’s 11 feet and I’m loving it.”
The Tyler guy says, “Oh yeah - that thing is beautiful!” (totally sincere)
They both seemed really stoked.
And you know what? That Duke Kuhio Model is a beauty.
A kid on the beach one day told me he had just bought his surfboard out of the used rack from a surf shop. It was the biggest piece of s%$# I had ever seen. He asked me if I liked it. I told the beaming kid that it was nicest surfboard I had ever laid my eyes on. I am sure I sounded sincere too!
