hello, i have a P20SA2 hitachi planer and wondered if anyone knows whether this would be ok to use on a blank or whether a converted one like the P20SB is needed, any help would be great , thanks , steve 
A converted planer is desirable but not necessary.
I shaped one blank with a Ryobi 18v cordless.
Came out horrible but that was due to my lack of ability, not the planer.
Go for it and post pics.
