Howzit chip Not sure if you were not on line when Herb posted his last thread about going to the far east for some higher spiritual learning and they were letting him bring his boards but he may have left and gone already to a higher calling but it has been quite while since we have heard from him. I just hope he was telling the truth and not hiding something like his cancer coming back and not letting us in on it. He has been a great sway friend and was looking forward to getting together with him now that I am on the mainland and can see him. Try a PM and if that doesn't work that he may have turned off his computer and is doing the higher spiritual thing even though it sounded like it would be a while before he was going away. Howzit chip, I think you are getting the wrong idea of where Herb was comng from. Do a herb search and read his last posts and you will get a better insight into what a person Herb really was. He was very serious and not pulling any ones leg or on any substances. He is one of the heavest people you have ever known and even though he had a sense of humor he was very serious about the life change he was about to make. Hicksey just disappeared from Sways with no notice and as a modrator he should have let the forum know why he was leaving and given up his spot as a moderator so someone could fill his place since a moderator should be checking Sways a lot andmaking his presense known. Don't want to sound heavy on herbs absense but he and I had many things in common and felt I very close to him and can only hope tha he is ok and following his spiritual dream. Aloha,Kokua

yes , i have always found herb a really helpful , upfront guy ,
and really enjoy his contributions here , as he appears to be a person who ‘thinks outside the box’
his generosity in sharing , posting things , and his enthusiasm seems contagious to me too
i like to think we got / get on well, too …i guess having survived the seventies in fairly good shape means a lot of us on here have things other than surfing to be thankful for too !!
it will be interesting to hear where herb goes next , and the result[s] of his spiritual journey …

Herb lives just down the street from me and we converse often. I have spoke with him a few days ago and he is well and in good health (as far as he tells me). He is serious about his pilgramage to monkhood but that is down the road as he has present day matters to attend to and wrap up, ie ; family and kids to tend to.
as far as swaylocks ,,, his computer was passing a virus so he killed it and is doing fine without it.
I can relay any messages to Herb,,,,,, no problem,,, just PM me or add to this post
When Herb recently showed us his new finless design we all got very excited about the possibilities ( well I did) and then we havent heard any more.
Everyone wishes Herb the best but we're also hanging out for the official reveal of what could be THE design of the century.
