Paging Noodle

Noodle, I’m looking to build at 7’6" pin tail gun and I’ve noticed that you helped a few people by generating some template measurements. Can you do that for me? If so, here are some more dimensions. I’d be very thankful. -Joshua Nose width, 11" Wide Point 2 3/4" ahead of center, 19" Tail width, 11 1/2"

I threw your numbers onto my program. The widths which you gave me force your board into an excentric diamond shape. The mid-board rails come to a point. I probably wouldn’t have guessed it without the program. Is that what you want? Probably not, so I worked with the shape and came up with this nice sharpened gun. I like your 2.75" offset, especially on a gun. It’s in there. This shape is 90" long X 19" wide. 12" tail width and 13" nose width. With the forward offset, the differing nose and tail widths bring the board back to visual symmetry. Both nose and tail templates go perpendicular 1.2" past the stringer.(That means both ends are pretty sharp.) I examined the roughed out form on 3D CAD, and It looks good. I included rocker heights from center tangent. Tail rocker is 2.6% of length, and almost no progressivness. Nose rocker flips only to 25 degrees from horizontal. It should be speedy. I’m including a mid-board rail foam rough template 2.6" thick. The rail line is .65" above the bottom. The deck flattens on top. I think this rail/deck shape is a good gun compromise for giving as much floatation as possible, while thinning out the foil and the rail. If you want your original shape, I’ll post it. Just ask. Oh, and keep me posted on how this rides. x , y , Rocker 0.0 , 0.00 , 2.34 0.0 , -0.00 , 2.34 0.5 , 0.76 , 2.27 1.0 , 1.29 , 2.20 2.0 , 2.10 , 2.07 3.0 , 2.73 , 1.95 4.0 , 3.26 , 1.83 5.0 , 3.73 , 1.72 6.0 , 4.14 , 1.62 7.0 , 4.52 , 1.52 8.0 , 4.86 , 1.43 9.0 , 5.18 , 1.34 10.0 , 5.47 , 1.26 11.0 , 5.74 , 1.18 12.0 , 6.00 , 1.10 13.0 , 6.24 , 1.03 14.0 , 6.47 , 0.96 15.0 , 6.68 , 0.89 16.0 , 6.88 , 0.83 17.0 , 7.07 , 0.77 18.0 , 7.25 , 0.71 19.0 , 7.42 , 0.66 20.0 , 7.58 , 0.61 21.0 , 7.73 , 0.56 22.0 , 7.88 , 0.51 23.0 , 8.01 , 0.47 24.0 , 8.14 , 0.42 25.0 , 8.26 , 0.38 26.0 , 8.38 , 0.34 27.0 , 8.49 , 0.31 28.0 , 8.59 , 0.28 29.0 , 8.68 , 0.24 30.0 , 8.77 , 0.21 31.0 , 8.86 , 0.19 32.0 , 8.93 , 0.16 33.0 , 9.01 , 0.14 34.0 , 9.07 , 0.12 35.0 , 9.14 , 0.10 36.0 , 9.19 , 0.08 37.0 , 9.24 , 0.06 38.0 , 9.29 , 0.05 39.0 , 9.33 , 0.03 40.0 , 9.37 , 0.02 41.0 , 9.40 , 0.02 42.0 , 9.43 , 0.01 43.0 , 9.45 , 0.00 44.0 , 9.47 , 0.00 45.0 , 9.48 , 0.00 46.0 , 9.49 , 0.00 47.0 , 9.50 , 0.00 48.0 , 9.50 , 0.01 49.0 , 9.50 , 0.01 50.0 , 9.49 , 0.02 51.0 , 9.48 , 0.03 52.0 , 9.46 , 0.05 53.0 , 9.44 , 0.06 54.0 , 9.41 , 0.08 55.0 , 9.38 , 0.09 56.0 , 9.34 , 0.11 57.0 , 9.30 , 0.14 58.0 , 9.24 , 0.16 59.0 , 9.19 , 0.19 60.0 , 9.12 , 0.22 61.0 , 9.05 , 0.25 62.0 , 8.97 , 0.28 63.0 , 8.89 , 0.32 64.0 , 8.80 , 0.36 65.0 , 8.70 , 0.40 66.0 , 8.59 , 0.45 67.0 , 8.47 , 0.49 68.0 , 8.35 , 0.54 69.0 , 8.21 , 0.60 70.0 , 8.07 , 0.65 71.0 , 7.92 , 0.71 72.0 , 7.75 , 0.78 73.0 , 7.58 , 0.85 74.0 , 7.39 , 0.92 75.0 , 7.19 , 0.99 76.0 , 6.97 , 1.08 77.0 , 6.75 , 1.16 78.0 , 6.50 , 1.25 79.0 , 6.24 , 1.35 80.0 , 5.95 , 1.46 81.0 , 5.65 , 1.57 82.0 , 5.31 , 1.69 83.0 , 4.95 , 1.82 84.0 , 4.55 , 1.97 85.0 , 4.11 , 2.13 86.0 , 3.61 , 2.30 87.0 , 3.04 , 2.51 88.0 , 2.35 , 2.74 89.0 , 1.47 , 3.04 89.5 , 0.87 , 3.22 90.0 , 0.00 , 3.46 Rail: Width , Deck , Bottom 0.0 , 1.95 , -0.65 1.0 , 1.95 , -0.65 2.0 , 1.95 , -0.65 3.0 , 1.94 , -0.65 4.0 , 1.92 , -0.65 5.0 , 1.87 , -0.65 6.0 , 1.79 , -0.65 7.0 , 1.64 , -0.65 8.0 , 1.37 , -0.65 8.8 , 1.00 , -0.63 9.2 , 0.68 , -0.49 9.4 , 0.40 , -0.31 9.5 , 0.00 , 0.00

Noodle, Thanks! Your modifications sound great. I’ll plot these numbers and use them. When it’s done, I’ll post the results and a picture (could be while). Thanks again! -Joshua
