I followed with great interest your account on the learning process on the new Brom fish you got in October, would love to read an update, being that I myself am looking to move up/down from longboards but are a bit intimidated by the statement that I read somewhere that fishes “are not for the mild mannered longboard types”. Thanks John
I met Tim at the beach one day and he showed me that board…I think he had nothing but good things to say about it.
Ive talked at length with Tim about his Brom Fish... he
s extremely impressed with it`s quality and performance, as well as his experience of working with Steve. MAGIC…
JohnC, I have a large volume fish that you can try out. 7’7"x 22"x thick Max McDonald / Rocketfish w/ multipull fin setups
those epoxy max-clyde rocket fish are unreal! so many in sb-ventura area.i think clyde glasses the broms also.
Unfortunately I haven’t been surfing much the last month or two (travel, family and weather will do it to you) so I can’t really give all that much feedback on progress (I will soon, I hope). If you are thinking about making the transition my only advice would be “do it” – and do it now. Steve will not only shape you a beautiful and bombproof board, he will also guide you through the learning process (it is a process.) I am not sure what you are looking for exactly…but if you want to go shorter and keep the paddling power as well as wave catching ability while not losing that glide (if you want it) and speed but gain an incredible amount of manueverability then call Steve tomorrow and ask him to shape you one…it will open a completely new world for you! Hey Dubstar…if you are still thinking about getting a Brom let me know, a friend from CT is also thinking about it (as am I thinking about another for travel) we can do it at the same time to save on shipping.
Thanks everybody!
Thanks Tim…I’m undecided at this point, but I’ll be in touch if I reach a decision soon.
