paint on merrick gun

hey yall,

for a school art project, im stripping down a 6’10" Merrick gun and repainting it. i got the board temporaily from a ice cream shop up the road that had it hanging in the window for advertisement. the boards pretty screwed, tons of delamination that ill probably fix, although it will most likely never be surfed again. what paint should i use thats hopefully cheap and easy to work with? i dont have an air compressor so airbrush will not be a possibility. i sanded off the old spray paint last night, but there is a lot of yellowing where the paint wasnt. any way to get rid of this?

Howzit tomcat, If it’s a sanded finish board try using some 320 grit sand paper to remove yellowing, works sometimes. As for what paint to use,it can be acrylic spray paint in a can or epoxy paint also works. with acrylic paint after you paint the board use some clear acrylic to cover and protect the paint job.Aloha,Kokua
