Don’t companies sell rash guards and decals for the bottom of the board to repel sharks? M fins will have a similar pattern, but I don’t know about sharks. Is there someone more knowledgeable than I who can chime in?
They found that targets and boards were less likely to be hit if they had cross section stripes. Similar to a tiger or tiger shark in this case. We actually painted stripes like this for a client and I know for a fact that up until this point he has never been attacked by a shark.
LeeDD, would you feel safer on the new, improved, shark-repelling model? Thanks for the tip TSaunders!
Hey Sean
That’s some quick work!
Are you sure you are not an internet service geek?
Tigers, tigersharks, tigerfish, or is that lionfish?
If it makes you feel good, go for it!
Me, I already surf well inside the RedTriangle, have pushed my luck at least 4,000 days, have sat within 4’ of a actual bite, have tried to poke the eyes out of a 20’er, have laughed at Bobby Trueloves struggles to wrestle a 8’ baby white to shore, and have been a commerical fisherman out of HalfMoon Bay and we saw some BIG ones while anchored overnight at S. Farralones.
I don’t need to go trollin for no sharkies.
I’m sure I’m not an internet service geek.
Dude…not saying you are…that’s a compliment…as in…you can get a job in the internet industry and excell…
They are always looking for fast, good, workers.

I’ve never been attacked by a shark either… but it’s because of my Voodoo wax that I put on all my boards. I’d be willing to sell said wax… $50 a bar. Don’t worry about the sticky bumps logo - it’s genuine Voodoo.
The wax also seems efficient at repelling Killer Whales, giant squid, Man’O’War, and Polar Bears.
I finished the dye job on the fins for the green to blue gradient. They turned out very well, much better than I expected. I haven’t decided whether or not to add the black stripes so I will hold off on that step for now. Once I get access to a camera link (tomorrow, I hope) I will upload the pictures and write some descriptions of what exactly I did.
