if i was to spray straight over the stringer would this cause any probs > for example glass adhesion to the stringer?>>> thanks Maybe some cosmetic probs.,better to tape off the stringer though. Actually the stringer showing is eye appealing. Aloha, Kokua

if i was to spray straight over the stringer would this cause any probs > for example glass adhesion to the stringer?>>> thanks I’ve done a few like that…after the board is cured it looks like the paint has crystilzed on the stringer…glassing the boards myself, when I laminate, I saturated the area at the stringer and it looks good, but as it dries, and as it flexes when you use them the crystilization becomes more evident. I’m sure that the adhesion is compromised but, I’ve had no problems, no de-lams, or broken boards, just cosmetic…so far!

I ran out of the right size stringer tape and went 3/4 offset on each side…the clear foam really sets everything off contrast wise. It’s nothing new but I havent seen this for a while. R. Brucker

thanks you guys!! do you know anything about two pak paints? can they be used on foam? thanks

thanks you guys!!>>> do you know anything about two pak paints? can they be used on foam?>>> thanks I’ve always used a good quality acrylic artist paint with no problems, no fading, colors stay bright. Just stay away from black as it will really heat up in the sun.
