Anyone know if Dave P’s boards are available on Oahu? Or do I need to call Moondoggies in Central Cal?

Either PM Blane (CarveNalu) or email Charlie http://surfgear.cc/ to see if they are willing to hook you up with DP.
Seen quick a few of his board this year for sale hear on the local Craigslist too at some bargain prices.
I’m sure he’s quite busy doing his regular PU thing along with the other projects he’s got going with Blane(SUP) and Charlie (Balsa Lam)…
hapaboy,
Dave is up in Central CA right now mowing out foam. He’ll be there for 2 more weeks or so… Perfect time for you to get something closer to home than waiting for him to get back here to Hawaii then you got to pay shipping and all that stuff… Call that place you mentioned and if you can’t get anything, respond back here and I’ll see if I can track him down…
CN,
Mahalo for the good words. I talked to the Moondoggies guys today. Might have to take a drive down the coast and check it out.
I hear He’e Nalu Surf Company over there might have some DP boards as well.
Aloha
check out the RealVoice japanese website (R34?)
that’s the Kealuana’s main sponser.
Hale Nalu used to carry quite a few every now and then but they’ve gone Boardworks or Chinese lately…
what is DP using for foam these days?
Yeah, I mean’t Hale Nalu in Wianae. Sorry, what’s the Real Voice Japanese website - do you know the URL?
As per foam, Moondoggies folks told me that they actually had a stash of Clark’s left over, so DP’s doing a batch of good 'ol PU/PEs as we speak. I’m thinking one of DP’s last Clark board is nice collectors item right off the shelf~ ~ ~
BTW, anyone read his latest story in the new Surfer about his visit with Wayne Lynch? WL seems like the real deal, and then google comes up with Evolution surfboards from LA - the complete opposite ethic as what it seems WL is all about?
Hapaboy,
I think Lynch got involved with Evolution when it was a very different company- it apparently got taken over by the money guy who wanted to make it what you see now. Initially it was Lynch and Brian Bulkley shaping and boards were not cheap but were awesome and were within a do-able range (and worth the coin I guess) Now, it’s what you see on the website and I don’t know how involved Lynch is. His name’s still on it apparently and I’d imagine he has some idea of how it works, but maybe he just doesn’t care any more? He had another version of Evolution before that company too as I have a board I picked up a good 10 yrs ago. He’s a hell of a surfer and shaper, no doubt about that. Parmenter too, I’d love to get one of his boards and it seems Moondoggies can hook you up for a custom. I say go for it and make sure you post pics here for us to drool over!
Funny the timing of things… Just got a call from Dave regarding some business stuff. I mentioned this thread to him and hapaboy’s interest… He said longboard blanks are not available to him at the momnet but he’s doing a bunch of shorter boards etc… Yup, the Moondoggie connection is the way to go… Dave makes really good boards in all sizes… A true craftsmen…
A few weeks ago… Dave signs a board for a super stoked Doug Lock…
