Needed a freshen up in my surfing. Spent years making and riding all sorts which leads to DQS ( Disjointed Quiver Syndrome ). So I’m working up a quiver with local shaper/ripper Dan Cougle of DMCboards.
Picked up board # 1 of 3 today. Forgotten how good it is when a custom board meets your expectations !
Question I’ve never really heard a definitive answer for backed up by facts
How long should I wait to surf it ?
Points to consider
Lammed 3 days ago (poly)
It’s winter here
I want it to last.
Thanks for any opinions backed by facts.
Cheers

I just check the lam…pressing with my fingers…if its soft I wait a bit more…if its hard enough I just surf…depends on the glass job i think…but guys around my beach say you have to wait one month for complete curing…
have a good day
if it was done with uv cure then you can surf it now
if done with mekp the i think i remember the Harbor web site saying that you should wait around 2 weeks t 4 weeks depending on temp
My post cure is leaving the board in a warm but not car on a sunny but not too hot day. Thermometer up to about 100 degrees f. Just cover the board, so no sun damage, direct sunrays. And not too long, just a couple of hours
thanks for the replies
not uv cure , I’ve glassed and surfed uv’s on the same day before
post curing in front of the reverse cycle a/c as we speak
lots of seat of the pants theories eg thumb test , smell gone etc that we all use
does anyone know the set in stone science ? if there is any
Cheers
