“Hello” to Paul if you’re here.
I was just perusing the photo archives, getting some ideas for my next board when I came across this board from 2002. I was wondering if you could give us a little insight on the design. Have you made others of the same design? What type of waves was it designed for? Did it perform according to your expectations?
I realize it’s been awhile but this board has piqued my interest.

Thanks for the info,
Funny coincidence, here’s what I was sketching yesterday as my next project (7’2" x 23.6") :

hi Paul !
…was that inspired by the ‘sufboard design and construction book’ ? [which I got today …thanks very much pdf !]
I think that ‘teardrop’ outline is pretty close to the aussie “Tracker” template [?and size ? or not?] , isn’t it Platty ?
ben
I made that board for waves in Washington State…
Beachbreaks and pointbreaks…
It wooked reall well, for my style of surfing…
On that board it was a forward trim wonder…
The template was straight out of “Surfboard Design And Construction”…
Surfboard_Design_and_Construction Page 36 on the PDF…
Re: expectations…Be realistic…Our greatest dissapointments in life are when reality does not meet our expectations…
Thanks Paul,
Did you ever think of flipping the planshape around and making a Lazor Zap style board? I’m kicking the idea around.
I just shaped a similiar board, but with a wider nose and a more pulled in pintail. 7’11".
Aloha
