Flip nose? Thin forward rails? How much rocker? Domed deck? Wide point behind center? Gloss or sanded finish? Flat bottom? Bisect? Hollow or solid? Surf wax? Hard edges? Flex? What kind of stomp pad? One, two or three fins? Displacement hull? Toe-in angle? Tucked edges? What kind of leash? How do I travel with these things? A million questions with a bazillion answers. For others, the fewer the questions, the greater the freedom.

Hey Dale, This photo takes me, to where I grew up, body surfing in Jersey; never saw a board 'till I was 27. I relate so well to this ultimate kind of freedom. I wonder how many of today surfers have ever been here. I don’t think I’m far off when I say that most have missed a wonderful part of surfing. Mahalo, Rich
