Posting pics of yourself took balls. Even if you were wearing booties. More so than all of us. I’d post one up of me surfing but I still have yet to figure out how to stand up.

i wear booties all the time!! admitedly most of the time its in uk cool waters but even in morocco… stops me falling off! lol
and those pics got me so stoked for the weekend!

I use to think booties were kind of lame too, that was until I cut the crap out of my foot one day and I decided to give them a try on reef breaks and rock bottoms.
I was listing to Machado and PatO talk to another guy who won the expression session the contest before talking about his big airs. They were talking about how he was using booties and how they looked with boardshorts. Well he laughed it off, and said that it helps his traction, so he doesn’t care how it looks. I have gotten a lot of requests via boardmail asking me to repost the pics so I will give it a try.

I must admit, I’ve been bearded-board-short-bootie-big-hat-and-sunglasses man…and while I wasn’t busting sweet airs or looking tre chic, or doing anything more than keeping the tops of my feet from rubbing raw while knee paddling, I was having fun.

So far this is the set up I like the most, fairly loose, but still lots of drive.
