pigment/resin(PE) ratio

Trying to be spot on in a board restoration…not my usual “I think this will work” approach. Ratio on Tap Plastics pigment is 1 oz. to 1 quart resin. Other resin spec’s say no more than 3% of additives to resin…which is half the other. Which (or other) should I go with ? Thanks

If you are doing a resto you need to add as much pigment as needed to match to board. 1 oz of pigment in 1 qt of resin is not that much pigment.  You need to pigment up the resin, then pull some out and put it on a layer of fiberglass.   You'll be amazed how dark it is in the bucket, but how light it is on the glass.   red looks like blood in the bucket, but looks pink on the glass. Blue looks like black, but ends up like faded blue jeans on the glass.

Answer, keep adding pigment.

best you tell him to increase the catylist as well.Step Aerobics

Thanks resinhead and huie…yea, the nice rich  yellow i mixed yesterday looked like watery urine when it went  on the board. OK, thicken the pigment, maybe double the catylist…tests tomorrow. Thanks again
