3 Tape method, pulled the middle up, applied the pinline (Posca), dried, pulled the inside and outside tape up and…yech, bleeding. I think I didn’t sand the hotcoat enought for a smooth adhesion? It bleed with the 180grit scratch marks? It should probably be really, really smooth. I DID pressure each side of the tape prior to pinlining.
Can I just airbrush acrylic next time without Posca? I think it’d go on much more smoothly and evenly.
Howzit 220, Sounds like you didn’t the tape down good enough. Use a ice cream stick to press the tape down or you can use your finger nail. Also as you apply the pin line with a Posca you should follow right bshind with a heat gun or hair dryer to set the pin line before it can bleed. Also I use 220 paper instead of 180. Aloha, Kokua
has anyone tried to spay some clear sealer, like the future stuff i am always reading about, before the posca pen is applied. my thinking is that the clear will fill any voids under the tape and then the posca won’t blead through… in essecce you’ll perhaps have clear bleed through but it won’t be visiable…
