is any one out there familiar with the bing/brewer pipeliners. i would like to shape a board around one of those old templates. ive recently come across some photos and rough dimensions of one of the brewer island guns but i have no info on rails or rocker.what an amazing board .i have a little info on the bottom and fin but other than that??? any help would be appreciated, thanks.
There was an article in Longboard Magazine featuring the Bing Pipeliner. Not sure which Volume and number though.
i say get in touch with mike eaton in san diego- i think he still does the bings- he’ll have what you may be after-
Bing Copeland is available by e-mail and kept records of all his boards. A Google search will find him. Sluggo
watch that nose rocker, may push water lopez likes to get in early
I basically made that same single fin but it was a 7’3" I used a 7’3" eaton blank natural rocker. 13 n 20.5 w 12.75 t by 2.75 thick wide point up three inches from center. I’ve surfed it up to double overhead and it’s super solid. My only suggestion is drop the nose rocker unless you plan on doing some vertical snaps !!! One of my favorite boards good luck
Try getting a hold of J.A. . He’s got the templates , from Brewer. He sometimes visits here. Maybe try to reach him through Beatty Products , He shapes with Wayne Rich. I am working with him on the very same project.
patrick, if you want to get a feel for that board the best bet is to look at one in person. if your on the west coast there was one hanging at longboard grotto and one hanging in glen kennedys last time was in those shops. i don’t really understand the advise by “coop” on the post above. wasn’t me, probably another coop.
Patrick, I have a modern version of a pipeliner that was shaped by Owl Chapman,(Chapman/Brewer logo) if you’d like to see/ride/measure it you’re more than welcome. I can mail you the template if you want. But the foil/rocker is where it’s at…
I’d love to see that board. where are you at?
