Please review my design

about weight but she is about 56" tall. Though I kept dragging a board to the beach with us she never showed an interest until this year when she decided it looked fun.

Was looking at these as they have some grom friendly sizes with FCS fins. http://www.softechsoftboards.com

This is kinda Nuggetty http://www.softechsoftboards.com/58-brainchild-performance-softboard

EDIT: No width listed but looking at them they might have same 20" width problem.

Back to shaping stands.

MOST surfers are incapable of outsurfing a hybrid shape. A kid can always grow into the 90s potato chip later on, but for now the rudimentary basics of catching the wave and popping up without falling over is the thing. We’re not talking about HI conditions where managing the energy from an open ocean swell becomes Job #1. The OP is on the east coast where generating the energy to get going is the thing.

Thanks everyone for the input! I decided on a 4’8" shaped similar to the McCoy Nugget, but a little narrower forward and wider tail. I took my gromlet to GreenLightSurf today to order the blank (their 5’3 performance shortie) that I will knock a bit of the nose and tail off of. He was stoked about our trip!
