I know this is off most of the subjects posted, but I’m looking for a local San Diego plumber. Someone who might work for beers or ding repairs? I have a shower that won’t quit leaking out of the shower head, I have replaced all the on off components to the hot and cold and it still leaks not just alittle but even more than it was. I’m in desperate need to get this fixed, my wife is out of town for the week and I said it would be fixed by the time she gets back. Bartering is the best for me I will suply beers, food , ding repair, or even make a board if it going to cost that much… Thanks again Mark Scott

What’s the brand? Single? Double? http://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/108/html/2081.html
aka, I replaced the hot and cold two knobs not a single, not just the washers but the whole turning fixture. I used Price Pfister s10-375 tub/shower compression stem.

Have you tried tightening the packing right where the stem goes into the body of the valve, put a wrench on it and gently tighten it, this should put more pressure on the rubber washer inside which will create a better seal, unless there is some debris in the valve…is the water leaking warm or cold? It should tell you which is leaking…
BILL HARPER PLUMBING(WHITE PAGES, OUT OF OB, SURFS THE SHORES ALOT), MIGHT > DO A DING REPAIR TRADE. Hi Mark, I can’t come down there and fix for you, but I’ll tell you right now you’d be hours ahead, if you can open the wall up without to much difficulty behind the valve to get the piece of S*#T P.P. valve the hell out of there and retrofit a single handle Gerber or American Standard-- Double handle Commercial Chicago or Grohe valve in it’s place. The plumbing industry has come a long way since rubber friction washers and packing glands. Ceramic cartridges are dakine! There a time to move on from a water logged old stick as well as a worn out antiquated plumbing fixture. Will plumbing my philosophy has always been that it should be of good enough quality to last as long as the build it’s in. Gone Surfin’, Rich
