Plywood fins - Looking for a build thread

Hi folks,

I remember when I first discovered Swaylock’s I saw someone doing a plywood fin build thread - particularly laying up the halo and glassing etc. But do you think I can find it now!?

I’m a numbnuts when it comes to putting the right words into the search engine, so I was hoping someone out there might remember the thread I’m talking about, or put together a pictorial “this is how I do it” thread (not asking for much am I).

The reason I ask is that I’ve just bought a 600x1200mm sheet of ply and, despite Greg Tate’s advice to the contrary, want to start making some fins.

Anyone?

It was Bert Burger who posted that thread.  I gotta get to work now, so can’t search to find it.  Hope this helps.

I think this may link the thread I mentioned.  It was titled “Wooden fins …Pictures and Instructions.”  Unfortunately, most of the pics aren’t showing up for me.

Ha!  I’m no legend.  But I’m glad I could help.  Bert gave so much to the forum, I don’t think it would be an exaggeration to say he lit swaylocks on fire.  Shame he doesn’t drop in anymore (to my knowledge).

I also feel that thread deserves a sticky, but that’s just my opinion.
