Anyone ever heard of this stuff? A shaper of a friend of mine wants to use this stuff. He was asking me if I knew anything of it. Never heard of it myself until this morning.
Puna,
If it was vinylester, it is probably from a boat yard or boat yard supplier,
nice stuff, very low porosity, I believe it will melt styrofoam,
lots of the yards and builders are using it, has a lower VOC
than polyester, and is allegedly more flexible and stronger.
Let us know how it works
Pete
The photo below is a spec sheet for V/ester resin from FGI in Sydney. If you can’t cut and paste it and blow the picture up let me know and I will try to post it again in a different format. platty
Vinyl ester is ugly stuff. I glassed a board with it once because fiberglass supply sent it to me accicdentally. It looked like a giant poo stick. Try the other polyester iso or orth ( don’t remember which), no ther regular stuff, used for sail boards. Much stronger than the regular resin. Been using one now for a couple years with not mush more than a couple little dents
