How many of those people went into the ocean?
well yeah… if you’re talking just surfers, you’ve got about a one-in-ten chance of getting eaten by a shark.
Yeah, I guessed that if you surf that the chances of being attacked by a shark are certainly higher than being struck by lightning. All the more reason to make sure the sharks in your area are well fed…
“I still miss my ex but my aim is improving”.
exactly the narrow-mindedness i was refering to…but lets not get off topic here
years ago while touring south africa—ian cairns told me—‘no worries, they always bite the other guy’ at this point in time we were the only two surfers out at cave rock south of durban----i’m thinking i was the other guy…good waves that day…
i watching something on the discovery channel one day and they were doing studies on repelling sharks…they were using different types of music to see what the sharks’ reaction would be…classical music seemed to attract the sharks while rock music tended to repel them…now to drill some holes in the board for some waterproof speakers, mp3 player, and to find whichever horrible band they played that actually repelled sharks!
i bet those sharks weren’t desperately hungry…any animal will go after potentially dangerous prey when desperate…therefore…nothing is guaranteed to work…sorry…but i think most people know that already
now fending off the attack…theres a subject…does anyone surf with an oxygen cylinder and a revolver (as per jaws)?
