Printing aps3000 template

OK ok…its tme again, how the hell can I print a full size template (even one side of the template!) from aps3000 software!!!

I have read archives in here and it is becoming all to confusing, does anyone have a simple to follow guideline, ir is it just to complicated to explain?

I have managed to “print to pdf” using the APS3000 option under print, however the template seems be saved all out of order, tail first with a stack of blank pages (18 pages in total)!

Please please please explain if a full template can be achieved!!!

You need a banner printer driver.

Hi Marty, I've been printing templates using Aku version 1.17.01(.brd files), adobe acrobat and a standard HP printer with A4 paper.

Boardcad software is also good and it prints 1" squares so that you can match up the sheets. Check that the 1 inch squares are exactly 1 inch or your template size will be wrong.

You don't say how wide the board is. If it is really wide then that could maybe explain the blank pages, but I don't know. Also, different printers have different software / drivers. Have a close look at the printer properties just before you print. Is it set to landscape or portrait (portrait seems to work best with A4 paper). Is the Resize selected (make sure it says none). Most printer software has a print preview window, so scroll through the pages to check before printing.

So first print outline full size. Select 'Adobe PDF' as the printer. This should create a 'java printing.pdf' file. Open that with acrobat reader. Print that making sure it is not set to resize. Match up the sheets using a straight edge and check the length/width of the printout is correct.

If you have access to a plotter then that would be easier and more accurate than matching up all the sheets.

Attached is the pdf file of the generic 6’2 board in Aku for reference

If you change the paper size in Acrobat to “custom” and set it to be wide (12") long (74" for mine) enough then you can take it to a print shop and they’ll run it off a plan printer.  Mine cost $10 or so to print…

Printing then glueing 18 pages accurately is a bit tricky.

mate you are a legend! im sorted...went the boardcad option, printed up perfectly, grids align, length width all sorted.

thanks heaps for the heads up, off to make a million temps!!

Cheers mate

ps thanks to the other suggestions also!

I printed mine at work on our plan plotter, find a friend who is an architect, engineer, or land surveyor and see if they will print it for you.
